It's quite an old patch.
FYI, I had explained almost the same thing a bit less than 4 years ago
and the answers didn't seem to be open for discussion ;)

looks like git send-email format to me ;)
Luca sent the one I had put in gentoo's patchset for which there is no
point in having under git format if the patch has not been merged.
