Compile a libVLC app with gcc with a different version of the one being
used for VLC.

Ask the KDE for Windows guys for the nightmare stories.

Moreover, let me ask the opposite: what is the benefit of shipping those
libraries? We never did and it always worked fine. But now we need them
because it's cool?
