[vlc-devel] VLC 2.1.0 fixing competition!

Hello,

Welcome to our 2.1.0 fixing bug competition!

As we are into the dull period of bugfixing during now and the release,
we're going to try a small contest:

  fixing bugs will get you points, and the top 3 developers with points will
  get some cool gadgets during VDD: top developper will get a cool
  tablet or a SSD drive (or the equivalent), the 2 other a smaller
  gadget.


Rules:
 - everyone can play, except the VideoLAN president and treasurer, that
   are, of course, excluded. No limitation of age, country (unless
   strong legal  issue);
 - points will be rewarded on merge or if someone merges your code;
 - this is about VLC on the desktop, not iOS, Android, WinRT or other
   BB10, FFx or equivalent;
 - jury will be able to manage conflicts;


Awarding points:
 - 500 pts for a patch closing a bug in the 2.1.0 bugs Milestone on trac,
 - 200 pts for a string deletion (or de-duplication) or an option deletion
   reducing strings number, before the feature freeze,
 - 300 pts for a patch closing a bug older than 3 years on our trac,
 - 200 pts for a patch closing a bug marked as Priority: High on our
   trac,
 - 100 pts for a patch closing any other VLC bug on our trac,


NB: you are allowed to open new bugs, but jury must validate them before
    accounting them; same for bumping prio :)


Yes, it's a bit silly, but it should be fun and not taken too much
seriously :)
