[vlc-devel] Is it possible to only open a media, but not play it immediately?

Hi Sirs!
  
 I'm using Android,libVLC.readmedia(url) will open a media and play it immediately. I want to let it keeps stopping,do some other things,then set a certain postion first,play from there finally. How can I do?
  
 There maybe need a kind of libVLC.open(url) or some thing.
