Ah, I see. I should have read the cover letter in more detail as well :-)

To me it's the other way around, the previous code is quite clear and 
concise, while this makes it a bit more confusing.

I'll see if I can come up with a better way of doing this once I get to 
reading patch 13/13 in more detail.

I hope to get to testing patch 11/13 tonight, and hopefully also read and 
test the rest of the patches.
