I tested VLC for Android and the desktop VLC with all my changes and
the modification to my changes that you suggested.  VLC for Android
still works without any inconsistencies, and the desktop VLC respects
the default setting of using VLC bands as it should.  Therefore, I
shall send a second version of the aforementioned patch.
