[vlc-devel] Over buffering with h.264

I have several h.264 streams that, typically, run fine. However, every 
once and a while, when PCR jitter causes re-buffering, they buffer 
several seconds of video. The log displays the following message:

core debug: Stream buffering done (6804 ms in 200 ms)

Any idea what could cause it to buffer 6 seconds of video in 200ms? This 
typically happens when the computer is experiencing heavy CPU load. 
However, I would expect the buffering and the time to buffer to be 
relatively the same (I am playing live video sources). Any idea what 
could be going on?
