[vlc-devel] DASH streaming

Make sure /usr/local/lib is included in the library path.
You can do this on Linux:
$echo "/usr/local/lib" > /etc/ld.so.conf.d/your.conf
$ldconfig

I'm not sure about FreeBSD.
