AFAIU there are major user-visible regressions in 2.2.2. Frankly, it 
should be obvious to anyone browsing the fora, the videolan list and/or 
Trac.

AFAICT the real problem is not news though: Release management is way 
under-resourced - not that I'd have any solution.
