[vlc-devel] how to compile the protobuf in contrib directory [help]

i have built 59 contrib package successfully.
bu i cant compile protobuf. it always show me the error

../../contrib/src/protobuf/rules.mak:23: *** Protobuf compiler (protoc) not found!.  Stop


what happen? i have done this: yum install protobuf-compiler. what shall i do?
