Error when reading is not a persistent state. It´s just there to show on the 
GUI. You can´t assume that it´s still valid at any point.

For instance, unattended VLC streaming can have one single item in a loop, so 
that streaming will automatically resume if it gets interrupted for any 
reason, such as network failure or temporarily missing file.
