I disagree.

The most noise comes from downloading. This can already be performed 
separately, because of licensing and offline builds. The next most noisy thing 
(and also not new-line-clean) must be configure scripts, and there are no 
reasonable ways to avoid that, other than building in single thread.

Also, slippery slope argument.

I have spent a hell of a lot of time to fix parallel build support, which was 
utterly broken in the previous contribs. Now you´re just undoing it.
