This should fix issues where X11 is present but not the windowing system 
(wayland for instance)

For the question about whether we should includes a hack for this bug while it 
should be fixed on Qt side: 
In my opinion, qt 5.10 isn't released yet and it will be a while before being 
mainlined in distributions. This bug give a bad impression of the software 
(corrupted window). So this could be an acceptable solution meanwhile.
