For your information, you can use the following command at this moment

curl -L "http://download.videolan.org/pub/videolan/contrib/x86_64-apple-darwin17/vlc-contrib-x86_64-apple-darwin17-20180208.tar.bz2" > vlc-contrib-x86_64-apple-darwin17-latest.tar.bz2
