[vlc-devel] Significant regressions in EIA-608 caption rendering

I took a look at captions for the first time in a while in VLC 3.0.2,
and it looks like there are a number of regressions, at least on OSX:
1. Captions are back to being rendered with a translucent background
instead of black (which is what the FCC requires)
2. Font has changed to one which is much larger than previously used
in VLC 2.2.8
3. Word wrapping problems frequently occurring (this may be a
side-effect of #2).
I haven't done a bisect yet to see when the breakage occurred, but
figured I should ask if these are known issues or whether anyone was
already working on them.
