I don't know if it's really all, but i tried a bit and found just one,
and that one because its binary was not in $PATH.
Examples of apps that don't have an absolute path, firefox, libreoffice,
thunderbird, mpv, chromium, dosbox, transmission.... and many other less
popular ones.
There's probably a standard somewhere...
Yes it's useful, you can write a wrapper script that masks the binary...
Probably an other reason they do this, is that users can copy these
files. Then if the path changes their menus continue working.
