Hi,

Here is v2 for the patch fixing #18045.

Changes from previous version:
+ use /dev/zero as advised by Rémi Denis-Courmont
+ add comments where there were questions (especially about Qt)
+ add support for compositor not having wp_viewporter
+ avoid attach/damage the black surface when not needed
+ fix some missing checks
