That sounds more user-friendly to me.

Apologies - I took the screenshot with VLC 3.0.6. For reference here are 
two screenshots (primary + secondary selection) in the latest build.

VLC 4.X's new GUI uses checkboxes by default (I didn't modify this). 
Will adding the new "activate 2nd subtitle" button be sufficient in 
regards to this feature?
