Natalie,

The current development tree is pretty unstable and the UI is more or less broken for everyone, except maybe on MacOS. For me, it simply crashes at start due to invalid delete. This is not ideal, but you're personally not particularly worse off than others.

And I don't see how that accounts for dropping fixes. The AMT patch has very little potential for conflicting with ongoing work, seen as it's mostly adding wholly new files, and there is very little churn to the access API at moment. I could understand losing Makefiles fixes but that's pretty much it.
