1) VLM was added as PoC for multiple playlist because there was no proper API. 
Now there is.

2) LibVLC VLM was added, explicitly temporarily, because there was no other 
way to expose VoD. VoD is no longer there and the VLM API is going away, 
presumably in 4.0 (because I can't see when else).

This is just reproducing the same bad design.

If you have a heavy state machine as a playlist, you don't shelve it in a 
repository with lots of other object of the same type. That's not just 
useless; it's a recipe for enormous and untraceable resource leaks.
