Hi,
The wayland inhibit module has been there since 2018 thanks to
RĂ©mi, but never went to a 3.x release, which means that there
is no wayland inhibiter for Wayland compositors.
The wayland protocol used is experimental and unstable, but
can be found on the project repository. [1]

As an unstable protocol, I understand it never went to 3.x
branch before, but is supported by at least wlroots (sway)
and KDE. It is not supported by GNOME though, which iirc
still uses DBus inhibiter.
As there are reports of inhibiter not working on multiple
compositor using this feature, would it make sense to
backport this module in 3.x or is it too unstable to be
integrated and users should wait 4.0?
Thanks for your input,
Regards,
