[vlc-devel] [RFC] Need for our own ASF demuxer

Hi,

I was wondering whats the need for VLC having its own ASF demux,
are there files/streams that can not be handled by the libavformat
ASF demux?

I've encountered an issue with VLCs ASF demuxer and I'm unsure
if its worth the effort to fix it or if the avformat ASF demuxer
could be used instead.
I am not long enough part of the project to know why VLC has its own
one in the first place, so any insights on this would be appreciated.
