[vlc-devel] [PATCH 1/4] adaptive: fix crash when selector returns no suitable representation

If merged, I'd like to backport some of this patchset to 3.0.12. The
crash fix is an obvious one. --preferred-resolution getting ignored is
also an UX bug, especially with regard to video website URLs, where
depending on the URL, an adaptive stream may or may not be returned and
the setting honored or ignored in a way the user can't even predict:
so I think it needs getting fixed. It also more or less requires
backporting the semantics change for --adaptive-height to always play at
least the lowest resolution (otherwise some streams on some setups would
suddenly become unplayable), but I don't think that change is a big
problem here, I figure it would be welcome too.

Anyone opposed to this?
