3.0 is going to be around, maintained and shipped for still quite a
while.

Despite your comments - I already know you personally don't find it
worth it, or else you'd have done it yourself - I insist about these
patches. You talked about consensus before: if we can't agree even
about convenience transition one-liners, then indeed how could we find
consensus about VLM schedule removal or service advertisement for the
HTTP interface.

I agree that the VoD removal should be put in the NEWS: preferably along
in the original removal commit. I would volunteer to do it myself now,
but I don't know the reasons and situation around it.
