[vlc-devel] GSoC 2025 Proposal for VLC: Video Effects UI + Presets + Guide Panel (Feedback Requested)

Dear VLC Developers,

I hope you're doing well.

My name is Harish Adsul, a second-year Computer Engineering student from
Mumbai, India. I’m applying to Google Summer of Code 2025 with a proposal
to enhance VLC’s “Adjustments and Effects” panel. My goal is to improve the
user experience by redesigning the UI, introducing a customizable preset
system, implementing an Auto Adjust feature using frame analysis, and
adding a built-in “Guide” tab for users who need help understanding video
settings.

I’ve attached my draft proposal to this email and would be truly grateful
for any feedback, suggestions, or corrections you might have. I’ve already
started exploring the relevant parts of the codebase (like video_effects.cpp)
and am working on a prototype for the preset system.
