Thanks for your reply

*Is there a specific reason to opting in for SHM? I'm asking this because
as far as I know, it has lower priority.*

With WSL*2 *to have the video embedded into VLC main windows only SHM works
for me. All the other options failed with error messages.
But it is not vital and I have a workaround for now.

Also, thanks for the great work you made. VLC is so powerful that I can't
live without.
