VLC 0.2.71 problems...

Hi all.
I can't manage VLC to work. I compiled/installed under a Mandrake 8.0 beta1 
distro but all I get is:

Maybe it is a kernel problem? Or what?!?!

Please help! I don't want to install winsucks to watch my DVDs!!!!
