R: Problem compiling vlc-0.2.72

with options -V x11 is working.

i checked the configuration of SDL (no worning or error occured during
configure) but nothing seems to be wrong. there is some requirement for
compiling SDL. where SDL install it's library?

   This basically means that SDL couldn't open a window. Maybe check
another little SDL program to see if it's an SDL installation problem.

   If SDL doesn't work, try to launch vlc with the "-V x11" option. If
your video card is supported by XVideo, you can also configure with
--enable-xvideo and run vlc with "-V xvideo". They'll offer about the
same performances as SDL, but no fullscreen support for instance.
