FW: Bugs in latest vlc?

I just upgraded the driver (from the tarballs,a nd yes, I followed readme
and edited /etx/X11/XF86Config-4). This apparently works: I see an nvidia
logo when I start X. But still, apparently vlc does not see XVideo working.
Weird!

I thought Xfree4.0.3 onwards supported Xvideo out of the box for GeForce
based cards... well maybe not.
Anyway you can use the linux driver provided by nvidia (www.nvidia.com) this
one should support Xvideo.
