Yes, this is because the fullscreen video mode is chosen by SDL so that it is
the nearest mode that can handle the current window size. The size in pixel
of the picture is not updated.

So if your window is 720x576 the video mode is 800x600 except if you specify
the modeline for a 720x576 mode like Stef ;-)
