and just for closing the discussion, ts stands for transport stream which is
a stream format in mpeg2 standard, there are two stream format (transport
and program stream), transport stream is for error prone networks like the
tv transmissions wherein you are liable for dropping the frames where as
program stream is for networks which are less prone to errors like reading
from the local disk. The DVDs, VCDs etc. all use program streams whereas the
tv transmissions etc. use transport stream.
