vlc slowdown

I took your suggestion and tried cvs snapshot from 20010726.
During the upgrade something caused low level (kernel i think) problem 
with dvd-rom drive. vlc (cvs and 0.2.80) did not see drive. I could not 
mount a regural or dvd cd (no medium found error).
basicly my system did not see and cd/dvd.

after i restarted my system :(  vlc worked beatifully. performance is 
awsome. it never slew down!

however i noticed fallowing messages in console:
Your stream uses Dual Prime Arithmetic. Please send a mailto 
massiot at via.ecp.fr for debugging purposes. Thank you.
and after about 80 minutes of working fine it stopped playing

i could not see any dvd or cd again, no mount command
here is output of trying to: mount /mnt/cdrom

I did not see this error before so it may be vlc related
i'm using 2.4.5  so it also may have some incompatibility impact (2.4.7 
is newest)
