Authorisation problem ?!?

Hi

I've installed the 0.62.2-1 (rpm) vlc version on a RedHat 7.0 with a 2.4.3 
kernel, Xfree 4.0.2 etc. and when i try to read a dvd, the machine return me 
this message : 

input: opening /mnt/cdrom/video_ts/vts_01_1.vob
Read failed (Opération non permise)

Some other stuff :
[root at excalibur /root]# ls -l /mnt/cdrom/video_ts/vts_01_1.vob
-r-xr-xr-x    1 root     root     1073739776 mai 15  2000 
/mnt/cdrom/video_ts/vts_01_1.vob
