Cant' find sectors on Star Wars?

Hi,
When trying to watch the deleted scenes documentry on my second star wars 
DVD, I find that I can watch it from the start of the title and it plays fine 
right through to the end, but if I try to skip to the second chapter, it 
skips to a completely new title, and if I try to go to any chapters after 
that the playback stops completely and verbose output says it can't read that 
sector - vlc then either segfaults, or just drops back to the interface - if 
I press play after it's dropped back to the interface then it does segfault.
I got a similar problem (but without the segfaults) on vlc 0.2.83, i'm now 
using 0.2.91
