Hi!
My name is Jens Eliasson and I study at the University of technology in
Luleå, Sweden.
I'm involved in Student-TV here, a small non-commercial television channel
made by students.

We are planning of use the video-server and the client in order do
transfer a MPEG2-stream from our "studio" downto the cable-tv company that
will distribute the stream over their net.

My question is this: Is it possible to have the client to write the
MPEG-stream to stdout instead of the screen?
We are planning to use the VideoLan server and client to transport our
stream over an IP-network, and then connect the VideoLan client to a
program called mplayer (that we use the get the picture out on a
Matrox-card).
Since mplayer can read from stdin the only thing left is to get VideoLan
client to write to stdout.

I'm gonne take a look on the source-code myself but i figured that it
would be much easier to ask you guy's first :-)
