RH7 install

I am trying to install videolan on RedHat 7.2. I have Ximian running and
SDL is installed. When I try to install the package, I get errors for
dependencies on:

libSDL-1.1.so.1      and
libXv.so.0

Both files exist in their appropriate directories.

I tried something else. I downloaded the source and compiled it on my
other machine with no errors. I copied the binary vlc over to the target
DVD machine and run it. No GUI. It appears to run at command line, but I
can't get DVD to play. Keeps giving CSS errors.

Any ideas?
