  I believe this is the segfault problem you were thinking of. I did
recompile (again tonight with --disable-pentiumpro to see if that would
make a difference) and still get the "insufficient resources".

  In this case I would be expecting the image to freeze every once in a
while.  In this case I'm getting a Gdk-ERROR.

  Before I go out and purchase a faster processor, I want to know that
this will resolve the problem.  I find the processor is beyond-enough for
everything else I do on this machine at the moment.

  You may want "minimum requirements" or similar to be in the FAQ - I
suspect this is something that not everyone knows.

  It may seem silly, but include a DVD-ROM in the list.  Until I started
this project I was under the misconception that traditional CDROM drives
would work.  Now that I've mounted a DVD and noticed over 8G of data that
this idea was out-to-lunch.
