Using vlc-0.2.90 under FreeBSD.

The output plug-in I use is dsp. Is there a way to synchronise audio and
video with dsp?

Regarding SSE, I'll try to compile it in the kernel.

This is unrelated. For the audio, which output plug-in are you using 
(dsp, esd...) ? For SSE, you could try to compile your kernel with 
SSE support, but apparently Scott Lambert has problems with this...
