Where are the package for Mac OS X ?

We do not distribute a binary version for OS X now.

You can build the app the usual way, i.e. untar the archive, then
 ./configure
 edit Makefile.opts (suppress the dvd plugin, which is broken now)
 ./make

then if successful
 ./vlc mpeg1or2file
 find bugs (easiest part)
 correct them
