vlc on sparc solaris

what i do know is that Solaris for x86 treats
the DVD to be a CDROM drive and is fine with it.
That's what the Hardware Compatibility List (HCL)
indicates. See http://soldc.sun.com/hcl/

my guess is that it should be the same for sparc.
did you try that?
