VLC MacOS X Dolby Digital 5.1 support

Hi, wouldn't it be possible to include support for Dolby Digital 5.1 
(maybe even DTS 5.1) into VLC MacOS X over the UA10 USB Abit Home 
Theatre adapter?

This USB device features analog output of 5+1 audio channels, the 
Dolby Digital decoding has to be done in software. There is no Mac 
USB Driver for the UA10 yet, but I think the biggest problem is that 
there is no Mac DVD player software capable of decoding DD 5.1. Since 
Apple showed no interest in supporting DD 5.1 in the past, maybe this 
would be a chance for VLC...
