VLC has never been able to decode DTS sound, but most DVDs with DTS 
soundtracks also include an alternative AC3 or LPCM soundtrack which VLC 
can play perfectly so this shouldn't be a problem.
If you have no sound in that case, then maybe VLC isn't using the correct 
soundtrack. It is possible to select the soundtrack you want to play from 
the GUI.
