If you are looking to a SPTS then there should be only one number in
there. Through selecting the right PMT number it should be possible to
view to movie.
AFAIK the dvbstream program does not adapt the PMT in the stream to
reflect the SPTS, but keeps the original from the Satelite. )I glanced
at the code in linuxstb.org for dvbstream.)

It is not that it is incompatible, but you have to specify the right PMT
number to vlc. Either by selecting it from the menu View|Program or by
giving it on the commandline . I never used a Nova-T card, but most of
the driver will probably be the same as with the others. So my guess is
that it suffers from the same problem, when you store that stream on disk.
