libSDL-1.1.so.0

I am trying to load the rpms on my redhat 7.2 system. In trying to load
vlc-0.2.92-1.i386.rpm I get the error that the file libSDL-1.1.so.0 is
needed to run. Even with the force command enable I can not get around
this. Seems that I have a newer version of the file. I read a post where
you suggested that we rebuild the srpms to get around this but I could
not get it to work properly. Is there anything I can do to get around
this?
