VLC OSX ?

Hi, I think you guys have a great project going here.  I have a question 
though.
Will VideoLan Client run on a G3-400MHZ lombard laptop.  Im running OSX and I 
cant seem to get it to recognize any DVD discs.  Thanks in advance for your 
help.  Once again you have a great project and i wish you luck
