VLC and Vbrick

Hello All:

Early in July I saw a thread of messages regarding VideoLAN Client and
Vbrick systems Video Servers compatibility on this list.  I am wondering
what the final outcome of this was?  

Last I found, someone had had luck writing a multicast "receiver"
program and outputting the data to /dev/stdin and then using vlc
stream:/dev/stdin to playback.  There was also talk of MTU sizes....

Does anyone know if the issue was resolved, or is the /dev/stdin
solution the best method at this point?
