Videolan 0.4.0(OSX)

I am really impressed with videolan
but I have some problems with the 0.4.0 release - The package for OSX when
installed has problems playind a divx file I can play ok with 0.3.1 (both
versions can't play sound as it's AC3)

the 0.4.0 version crashes after about 2 mins of playing - So I downloaded &
compiled the Tarball of 0.4.0. this then wouldn't play this divx file at all
(but plays dvd files fantastically)

So for me the 0.3.1 version is more usable & stable


anyone got any ideas?
