[vlc] Video is slow and flicks

Hello all,

I am using vlc under SuSE 8.1 to play DVDs and sometimes it flicks and 
gets slow. So I wonder what can be done to speed it up and solve this 
problem?

Is there any cache configuration or something?

I am using a Compaq Presario US2710 Notebook.
