-- prefix=/usr/local is the default, specifying it explicitely does not help either.

[/usr/local/src/vls-0.4.0] env|grep LIB
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib
LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib

How can i get debug info, i.e. what went wrong when searching for libdvdread?
