Hello, all ...

I've verified that VLC plays back local files on Mac OSX 10.2.4. What i've not been able to do is stream the files from one box to the other, unicast or multicast. The machines involved are one RedHat 9 box (running the latest VLS) and one iBook 700 (running VLC).

The IP of the VLS box is 10.1.10.221
The IP of the iBook is 10.1.10.215

On the VLS box (RedHat 9) I type:
[jmzorko at dhcp10net221 jmzorko]$ ls
animatrix1.mp4 animatrix3.mp4 libdvbpsi-0.1.2.tar.gz setiathome-3.08.i686-pc-linux-gnu.tar vls-0.5.0
animatrix2.mp4 libdvbpsi-0.1.2 setiathome-3.08.i686-pc-linux-gnu vlc-0.5.3-1.i386.rpm vls-0.5.0.tar.gz
[jmzorko at dhcp10net221 jmzorko]$ export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib
[jmzorko at dhcp10net221 jmzorko]$ vls -vv -d udp:10.1.10.215 file:animatrix1.mp4 --ttl 12

... on the iBook, I do File->Open Network, leave the port at 1234, make sure UDP / RTP is selected, and I don't type an address in the MRL field (i.e. leave it as udp:// -- when I typed an address it, the messages window said the syntax was deprecated).

Anyway, nothing plays on the iBook. Can anyone illuminate me as to what i'm doing wrong?

Regards,

John
